Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Sorry it took so long to get this post done! I have been working on it for a few days, the pictures really are what held it up - but a post needs pictures right?!?
We had a great Christmas and New Year. Christmas morning was a lot of fun. Who doesn't like to watch a little kid in awe of all the presents? Abbey enjoyed ripping all the paper off her Santa gifts (aka toys!). Her favorite was her new baby doll! After she opened each gift, she wanted it out of the box and ready for her to play with! Mommy and Daddy's gifts to Abbey weren't much fun, since they were all clothes! She figured it out real fast that the boxes that all looked like one another were boring clothes. The enthusiasm to open those ones left quite quickly, and once they were open the clothes were thrown aside just as fast!
Abbey with her hot chocolate moustache!
She really enjoyed opening her toys and wanted us to set everything up for instant play!
Tim trying on his new coat (thanks Jill and John, he likes it a lot!)
Here I am showing off my new shirt (thanks Jenny and Cameron, I really like it!)
Later that morning we had the Webb clan come over for brunch and gift exchange. Tim had to leave for work before we were all ready to sit down for the food. But I made sure he got his share of the breakfast before he had to go. Of course he had a diet Pepsi to go with his breakfast!
Cameron and Jenny hanging out on the floor (I think we have a picture of them sitting this exact way every year!)
Christine and Jared with baby Lukey!
Carrie with Luke (who says Carrie doesn't have a man to share Christmas with?)
Dad trying on his new back massager that will probably accompany him anywhere he sits from now on!
We had Mom and Carol (mom's old roommate who was baptized) over. I think mom really enjoyed being around all the family.
Dad with Carol.
Dad gave Carol's nails buffing with the gift he gave all the girls!
Lynn, Julee and Misty made it to the get together too. (Lynn is asleep in the background!)
Wyatt and Abbey sure love to play with Misty! It was a lot of fun to share the Christmas spirit and enjoy family. We were sad that we couldn't go up to the Merrill's this year, but enjoyed our earlier celebrations with them.

For New Years, Carrie and her roommate Tiffany invited family over for fondue! The party started at 9:00pm so I was lucky enough to have my cousin Stephanie (who lives around the corner) watch Abbey for me. It was a easy job seeing that I put her down for bed and she slept the whole time she was over at Stephanie's! Of course Tim was working until 1:00 am that evening and despite not having him with me to celebrate I had a lot of fun. Carrie and Tiffany threw a good shindig with sparkling grape juice and cider, cheese and chocolate fondue, and music/games.
The Strawberries are always my favorite, followed by marshmallows. I must say that the apples are delectable with the cheese too!
We played Disney's Scene It, which I have to say I was quite good at (mostly credited to Abbey, since she loves to watch all the Disney movies). Then we had a round of the bag game.

Here Jenny is after a successful bag retrieval!
Dad warms up for a tough round!Yes, that is Cameron. He is a tough competitor in the bag game! (I think the secret is in his ankle bend!)
I wish I could say I was a competitive player, but alas... I started to feel braxton hicks contractions by my second go round and had to forfeit for the rest of the game! (not to mention the hot flashes I was having the whole night, hence the paper plate fan)Even though I didn't get a new years kiss on the magic hour, I did get to countdown with Tim on the phone. All in all, it was a great way to begin the new year. I can't wait to see what happens this year. It should be a good one full of neat and exciting things, a new baby, possibly a new detective position for Tim, and who knows what else!! We hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year!! (and Tim says, "Don't drive drunk!")

Love it! It looks like you had a great time for New Year's even though you didn't get that kiss at midnight! Wish we could've been there! Christmas was better this year. It is neat watching our 2 year olds open presents! Each year will get better and better...(they'll be more involved and aware) I love you Connie!

Connie, I loved the holiday update. We just laughed at Abbey. At least she was trying to make good use of the tissue box.
